George Washington giving a turkey to the indians?

Well, it seems like now is a good time to update my readers (YES I can say readers as in plural, not just one reader twice, thank you very much) on my life as of late.

On Memorial Day, Ben came to visit from Sweetwater. It was a fun day - eating, a movie, arcade games, me getting us lost once every few minutes, a homeless man telling me I looked fifteen (right after asking me if I had any kids...?) , the strangest/greatest version of an Incubus song ever, and more of me getting us way lost. Then at the end of the day, Ben had to go back to Sweetwater. That part was sad. But the rest was great. Next it will be my turn to drive out to West Texas, so that should be interesting. I have a feeling I will be taking pictures during that adventure, so be on the lookout during July (Wow that's far away!) .

As it turns out, I only worked 1 1/2 days this week. Monday was free thanks to Memorial Day, and about halfway through Wednesday I got sick and had to go home. Which is super lame, I ended up sleeping for the rest of Wednesday and most of today. Tomorrow I should be good to go, though. I hope I am, at least.

My one workday, Tuesday, was a success! We cleaned out that wretched closet, which was actually not so horrible. I spent the majority of the time organizing all of the supplies and labeling the boxes (with Sharpies no less), which was rather enjoyable. And all of the occurred to the musical stylings of one Mr. Michael Jackson on the sound system. Not too shabby.

The first of our weekly SPLAT's (Summer Party Lasting All Tuesday... way better than PT Squared) happened this Tuesday as well. Six kids showed up, which isn't the best, but it could have been much worse. The six attendants seemed to be having fun. We played Rock Band and telephone pictionary - which has been one of my favorite games for about a year, and I just now learned the name.

Speaking of names... Stephanie is a hard name to say spell. Apparently.

I've never seen it end with a D before.
I think Bill hadn't either, so he pulled a 5th grade spelling test and made it a T/D combo.
I give him credit for that one.

I have no idea what i'm going to be doing this weekend, so there might be a long, out of boredom post coming your way (I do what I can to keep your dreams alive).

Good luck braving the face of the sun heat, everyone!

- Steph

  1. Confession: I'm also stealing your idea of putting parenthetical statements in a different color. We just all try so hard to be as cool as you.
